Web Design Case Study

People Smart is an Hr Outsourcing Company that had been running their company without a website for years. Once they realized they needed a web presence to compete effectively in today's market, they called on us for web services.

Initial Design Thoughts

My first thought was that an HR Outsourcing company would need an executive design, sleek lines, professional appeal, perhaps a bit of a high-tech look that would appeal to the company executives who would be responsible for outsourcing HR functions. Much to my surprise, the client had something completely different in mind!

Company Requirements

Content Management- The company wanted to be able to manage the content of the site on their own, without any hassles. This was great and I was actually relieved that I didn't have to explain the necessity of content management to a new website owner, as I often do.

Promotion-The company not only wanted a website, they wanted to be found on the web by those interested in their outsourcing services. Again, it was a relief that I didn't need to explain the importance of website promotion to a new website owner. They had done their homework!

Keep the Logo- I was quickly brought back to 'this side' of design and marketing reality when our client explained the necessity of keeping the existing company logo. This logo was being used on letterhead, business cards, the company handbook, etc. Needless to say, branding was a huge issue for this group, and their logo was part of that. My thought process had to drastically change, as the logo didn't fit in with any HR design I had in mind.

Web Design Results

Of course, we gave our client exactly what they wanted.

Content Management-The content management system is working effectively and has proved invaluable for our client.

Logo and Design- We cleaned up the logo to make it web friendly and built the website around it.
